Our Story

fixtures & more is a family-owned and operated business in the town of Newton, North Carolina. It was started by Anne Abernethy Wepner and her daughters Grace Wepner Ludtke and Nell Wepner in 2010 in an effort to create jobs in the local community and to refurbish existing commercial space that had become vacant. “We wanted to do something that would brighten everyone’s day,” says Mrs. Wepner, and thus the idea of a lighting and plumbing fixture store was born.

The vision of fixtures & more was to create a “one stop shop” for interior fixtures, thereby sparing customers the hassle of searching at various locations to match finishes and styles. This goal was enhanced by the expertise of the fixtures & more team and their various experiences within the homebuilding industry in Catawba County. Mrs. Wepner also wished to continue the spirit of entrepreneurship established by her family and, in particular, to build upon the legacy of her grandfather who ran Abernethy Hardware in downtown Newton for many years.

What is now the fixtures & more building was constructed in 2004 as a restaurant and has now been transformed into a stunning showroom space where homeowners and business owners can shop for the latest trends and fashions in home lighting, plumbing, and accessories. Across the street from the showroom is the fixtures & more warehouse which will later house an additional showroom where customers can view new products.

The remodeling of two vacant buildings now occupied by fixtures & more has helped to bring a new spark and vitality to downtown Newton. This spark extends outward as fixtures & more serves the local community as well as the wider state and national market via our e-commerce website to launch in Fall 2010.

The goals of fixtures & more are:
•To provide quality products for our customers.
•To assist customers with their purchases.
•To help customers make the process of customizing and accessorizing their home or business a hassle-free and pleasurable experience
